The FIC – Security and privacy by design
A real “business” requirement, a new legal imperative with the RGPD, “by design” raises many challenges. And first of all a psychological challenge: to admit that a system can not be totally secure and that it will therefore be necessary to design a “dynamic” security to take into account the evolution of the threat.
A technical challenge, of course: to protect and defend every link in the chain, that is nearly 20 billion connected objects in 2020, covering the entire life cycle of these products, from their design to their withdrawal, through their exploitation and their maintenance in safety conditions.
A human challenge, too: to educate, train and train today the profiles we will need tomorrow. A financial challenge, finally: reconcile the requirements of “time to market” with the design of secure architecture, by definition longer and costly to implement, but certainly less expensive than a massive product recall…
